Excellent Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall and shows only light signs of age/wear. The finish is almost entirely free of blemishes with only a few light marks that are visible in certain light. There are some marks on the back that are hard to see but visible in the photos. The neck is healthy with plenty of relief left in the truss rod and no heel swell. The frets are original and have lots of life left on them. The fretboard and inlays are healthy and look great. The electronics are all original and sound healthy with no noise. The original "Protector" hardshell case is included along with a commemorative belt buckle.

The 25/50 model was issued to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Les Paul model and the 50th anniversary of Les Paul's career. The last photo is an ad from the November 1978 issue of Rolling Stone. It boasting that the Gibson Les Paul 25/50 Anniversary model was "the most Les" and predicted "it's the kind of guitar they'll be talking about 25 years from now." They weren't wrong! It is a unique guitar in the history of Gibson Les Paul models and is sought by many collectors.

The 25/50 Anniversary is unique for a lot of reasons starting with the intricate pearl and abalone "25/50" headstock inlays and split block parallelogram inlays (one of only two Les Paul models to feature them). The creative design choices continues with combination of silver and gold hardware (such as gold tuners with silver buttons), abalone side dot markers, flamed maple top, five-piece flamed maple neck and a gold truss rod cover engraved with "Les Paul Anniversary".

This guitar has tons of sustain thanks to a brass nut and solid brass studs mounted under the tuneomatic bridge. Gibson gave this model high-output Series VII pickups and even added a factory coil tap!
