Metronome Music has been providing professional, high quality repairs for a wide range of instruments since 1962! Having repair technicians in-house allows us to make sure that every instrument we sell is in perfect working order. It also allows you to keep your instrument perfectly maintained and have critical repairs completed quickly at a local shop you trust.

Fretted Instrument Repair

The Luthiers at Metronome Music's repair shop have experience completing repairs on a variety of fretted instruments but we most frequently work on guitars, basses, banjos, mandolins and ukuleles. Contact us directly about working on specialty instruments or completing custom work.


Turnaround time varies depending on the repair. A $25 deposit is required when you drop your instrument off. The remaining balance will be due when the instrument is picked up.




Re-frets & Fret Dressing

Fret work is delicate work that requires skilled, experienced professionals. Luckily, we have them! Contact us if you have questions about having fret work done on your instrument.

Full Re-fret
Replacing all of the frets. Your instrument will need to be evaluated before we can provide an exact estimate.

Partial Re-fret
Usually most guitars don't need all of the frets replaced and instead need select frets replaced to fix a specific problem. This is when we charge by the fret.

Full Fret Dressing
A full fret redressing is a process that includes leveling, crowning and polishing of all the frets. Once complete this brings back the original shape, smoothness and ease of play to the frets.

Partial Fret Dressing
A partial fret redressing is for when only a portion of the instrument's frets need to be worked on.

Complete Setups
Full setup for most guitars, basses and other fretted instruments. Some instruments will have an additional surcharge like guitars with Floyd Rose style tremolos.

Strap Button Installations
Installation of a strap button on most fretted instruments.

Band & Orchestra Instrument Repairs

Full Instrument Overhauls
A full overhaul is an extensive process that varies on each instrument but will bring any instrument back to it's best possible condition. This service is available on additional instruments as well.

Full Instrument Repads
Replacing all of the pads on the instrument. This service is available on additional instruments as well.

Individual Pad Replacement
Replacing a single pad on the instrument. Cost varies by instrument.

Wind Instrument Cleaning 
Each instrument has different cleaning needs and full cleanings always require some level of disassembly.  Instrument polishing is available on some instruments for an additional fee.

Replace Tenon Corks 
Tenon corks are located at the joints of the instrument and are vital to the instruments playability.
