Serial Number: HL24259 Weight: 7lbs 10oz
Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition! Everything is original except the bridge pickup which has been changed to a Seymour Duncan JB. Everything is healthy including the electronics. The frets and fretboard have very little wear. The finish has a few small marks that are visible in the photos. There are a few faded areas that used to have stickers. This guitar does not include a case.
This guitar was created by legendary designer Rich Lasner. This is what he had to say about it:
“Designing the 1221MS and 1230S, I wanted a new, single cutaway shape that would be aggressive and powerful, while allowing full use of the neck in a way no other single cutaway bolt-on could. By using the Total Access™ neck joint system, I was able to achieve visual balance while still keeping all 24 frets clear of the single cutaway body.
The same ultra-thin graphite reinforced neck found on the double cutaway 1221 models is used for the 1221MS and 1230S.
American basswood bodies added just the right amount of warm tone to the bright attack supplied by the super-hard neck.
I wanted to create two distinctly different voices for these guitars. By developing a series of special pickups with DiMarzio® each model has its own strong personali-ty. The 1221MS has a humbucking/single humbucking configuration connected to our
"smart" switching system for noise-free operation. A wide range of sounds- from
"glassy" to "snarl" are easily brought forth. The Q-100 pickups on the 1230S are exclusive to Yamaha and are configured to produce some of the most distinctive vintage and modern tones available in one guitar.”
