Vintage Custom '68 Telecaster, NOS
1967's Summer of Love and Flower Power movement influenced mainstream fashions worldwide, and Fender was on board with its new Blue Flower and Paisley Telecasters. Oddly enough, the guitars became more popular with rockabilly and country western players (they were adopted most famously by Tele master James Burton) rather than the flower children that helped inspire them. These guitars have earned a special place in Fender history, and the Fender Custom Shop Vintage Custom 1968 Blue Flower and Paisley Tele models are faithful recreations of those original instruments.
The two-piece select alder body wears an NOS lacquer finish with WLS undercoat over the famous Paisley or Blue Flower motif. The rift-sawn maple neck has a '60-style "oval C" profile, topped by a round-lam rift-sawn maple fingerboard with 7.25"-9.5" vintage compound radius and 21 medium vintage frets for a comfortable feel up and down. Hand-wound '67 Tele pickups meet the exact spec for that year, with a three-way switch and modern Tele wiring. Other features include an eight-hole clear polyurethane pickguard, '67 Tele bridge with threaded steel saddles, Schaller®"F" tuning machines, bone nut, and wing string tree. Deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity included.

FENDER CUSTOM SHOP
A Fender Custom Shop instrument is extraordinary. You know it when you play one—it’s definitely more than the sum of its parts. It’s filled with intangible, electrifying elements that add a new dimension to your playing experience. It’s as if the instrument itself is imbued with history, alive with the spirit of the place where it was built and the devotion of those who crafted it.
The Custom Shop is home to Fender’s most skilled and talented builders. It’s a bustling, noisy and creatively volcanic place that re-earns its nickname—the Dream Factory—every day. Custom Shop builders are completely dedicated to their art—part craftsman, part artist, part music fan and, more often than not, part mad scientist. They’re the best at what they do, and they pour all of their passion, hard-earned knowledge and skill into every instrument they build. It’s no ordinary place, and the creations that come from it are no ordinary instruments. This is Fender Custom Shop.
